Jello is good

“Happiness is like jello.”

“What? I was waiting for the punch line,” she said.

“Happiness is like jello.”

“What do you mean?” she asked, conflicted between anticipation and fear of the “punch line” to this non-joke.

Let’s say you decide you want some jello. So you grab a fistful with your hand. It doesn’t work. The jello squeezes right through your fingers. And the harder you try to grab that jello, the more it just escapes you. That is because your goal is wrong. If you want jello, you should not try to grab it. You should instead make it your goal to form a good container. Let your hands form a good bowl. If that is your focus instead of the fist grasping after soft, sweet bouncy stuff, you will make a suitable container that can adequately hold and even display the jello.

...And you will obtain your desire also.
