People don’t tend to like poetry these days. It is not plain enough. It takes too much work to absorb and understand. It is full of references and allusions which call for meditation and reflection. But poetry can be beautiful if we will work at it a little.
The next few days, I will post some poetry written over the period of a few years as I tried to express some things I see in the death and resurrection of Jesus. They took a long time to write. Some took several attempts over years before they were ready to take the shape of words on paper (ok, screen). Perhaps you will enjoy and benefit from them, perhaps not. But they are here anyway. After all, this is my public journal.
